Strength and conditioning for the everyday athlete.

1557 Keppel Road, by Cantonment MRT. Small classes, beginners welcome.

New here? 5 classes for S$90.

For everyone on the podium there are hundreds who aren’t. Most of them never wanted to be. Heave is for them.

Small classes
No more than 12 to 14 people, so your coach can watch your lifts.
A plan, not a workout
Strength runs in 8- to 12-week blocks, so the numbers go up and you can see them go up.
Start where you are
Coaches scale every class to you. Nobody here is keeping score but you.

What we train

Five classes. Two build strength, one gets you fit, and two teach you to lift and move well.

A coach by the whiteboard, talking a member through the day’s session.
Push + Hinge On the board, Monday
  • Lift A · 15 min cap
  • 2 warm-up sets, build to 80% of 3RM
  • Sets 1 to 3: 12 strict press @ 80%
  • Sets 4 and 5: 8 to 12 strict press @ 80 to 85%

3RM is the most you can lift three times. Your coach works yours out with you.

  • Push + Hinge

    Strength, class of 14

Presses and deadlifts. A main lift worked at a percentage of your 3-rep max (the most you can lift three times), a second lift for size, then accessory work.

    Good first class

  • Pull + Squat

    Strength, class of 14

Pulling and squatting, built the same way. Both strength classes run in 8- to 12-week blocks, so you can see your numbers go up.

    Good first class

  • Metcon

    Conditioning, class of 12

Metabolic conditioning: short, hard efforts on rowers, bikes, dumbbells and kettlebells. Pick this one if you want a good sweat.

    Good first class

  • Oly

    Skill, class of 12

Olympic weightlifting: the snatch and the clean and jerk, coached step by step. New to it? Come to Oly (beginner) on Tuesday. The standard sessions are for when you have the basics.

    Good first class

  • Hybrid

    Skill, class of 12

Lifting, bodyweight skills like pull-ups, and conditioning, together. Skillwork sessions break a movement down. Standard sessions put it to work. Best after a few other classes.

Questions

Anything else, message us on Instagram or email hello@heave.sg.

I have never trained before. Can I still come?

Yes. Coaches scale every class to where you are, and the ones marked as a good first class are the easiest place to start. Tell the coach it’s your first time and they’ll look after you.

How do I book?

Everything happens in the Heave app: buy a drop-in, a trial or a membership, then book your class. The app always has the live timetable.

What should I bring?

Training shoes, a water bottle and a towel. We have all the equipment you need for class.

What if I want to come regularly?

Start with a drop-in or the 5-class trial. Once you know you’re staying, the app has memberships and class packs for regulars.
